The Divine Commentary on The Book of Revelation - Ch 10 (3.1.11)

Rev 10:1 I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven, clothed with a cloud. And a rainbow was on his head, his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire.

Divine Commentary—

“In his vision of what was yet to be,

John sees The Holy Spirit descending from heaven,

clothed with a cloud of glory.

The seven colours of the seven Spirits of God who are before The Throne are arrayed as a diadem of brilliance in order on and in His head.

His face is burnished as the sun,

His feet are as pillars of holy fire which neither scorch nor singe the family of God.”

Rev 10:2 He had a little book open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land,

Divine Commentary –

“The little book open in His hand holds that of which John did hear the voices utter,

yet even so remains under the seal of God,

                                   remains outside the writing,

remains within the mystery of God,

remains therein until release upon the sign of God.

My Spirit,

by the placement of His feet,

declares authority and jurisdiction over that on which His feet are set.”

Rev 10:3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. When he cried out, seven thunders uttered their voices.

Divine Commentary –

“And My Spirit cried out,

                with a voice in proclamation,

‘What is this upon My hand,

and what is to be seen within?’

In response,

do the seven thunders utter with their voices –

                         in reply,

                                    do these –

the seven Spirits of God who are before The Throne –

commit to answer the posing of the questions.”

Rev 10:4 Now when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, "Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them."

Divine Commentary –

“So the disclosures by the seven thunders are withheld from man,

                as John was so directed,

                         by authority from heaven.”

Rev 10:5 The angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised up his hand to heaven

Divine Commentary –

“So My Spirit with His feet of position,

on the sea and on the land,

so raises up His hand to also encompass heaven.”

Rev 10:6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,

Divine Commentary –

“So He swore by Him who lives forever and ever,

                as John so writes,

                as John so enumerates,

that delay should no longer be granted an extension beyond the approaching days –

of when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet.”

Rev 10:7 but in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished, as He declared to His servants the prophets.

Divine Commentary –

“As it is written,

so will the mystery of God be finished to completion –

as I declare to My servants the prophets.”

Rev 10:8 Then the voice which I heard from heaven spoke to me again and said, "Go, take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth."

Divine Commentary –

“As John is instructed,

                so he fulfils compliance,

                so the conversation continues.”

Rev 10:9 So I went to the angel and said to him, "Give me the little book." And he said to me, "Take and eat it; and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth."

Divine Commentary –

“ As John receives the little book,

which contains the words of God,

so he is asked to eat it,

                         so he is advised:

it will make his stomach bitter,

yet be as sweet as honey while it lingers in his mouth.

For John is to read the little book whereupon he will initially be uplifted,

                                                                                                                             be enthralled,

                                                                                                                       by what he reads therein;

but as he ponders on its content,

as he digests all that lies within,

so will he feel sick within his stomach,

                                                      so will his stomach ache,

so would what he has come to read bring vomit to his throat.”

Rev 10:10 Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it, my stomach became bitter.

Divine Commentary –

“Then John did as told with that which My Spirit tendered,

                           did as asked,

came to know the flavour within his mouth,

                                                                 the flavour within his stomach:

as he did eat and swallow –

                                                                                                         as he did read,

                                                                                                           did chew;

                                                                                                           did ponder,

                                                                                                           did digest –

the content of the little book.”

Rev 10:11 And he said to me, "You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings."

Divine Commentary –

“As The Holy Spirit –

  as My Spirit –

                so spoke to John,

so did John so write the record of the day,

so did My beloved so write of what now so approaches man:

as a bushfire before the gale,

as the fire of God is carried on The Spirit’s wings.”
