The Days of Thunder (9.7.10)

“The days of thunder are a season of noise upon the earth:

                                         a season of collisions,

                                         a season of impacts,

                                         a season of plumes,

                                         a season of upheavals,

                                         a season of inundations,

                                         a season of withdrawals.

The days of thunder sees a season in the life of man -

                                                                 man of the procrastinators -

                                                                 man of the contemptuous -

                                                                 man of the faithless -

                                                                 man of the iniquitous -

                                                                 man of the profane -

                                                                 man of the idolatrous -

                                                    for such a man has no place to hide his face,

                                                                 has no place where safety is assured,

                                                                 has no place not rejected which offers a refuge from the onslaught.

The days of thunder sees flashes in the skies,

                                  sees the shuddering of the earth,

                                  sees the fall of structures,

                                  sees the shooters on the earth,

                                  sees the armies crawl,

                                  sees the forces of man assembled in dispute,

                                                               drawn up in arrays,

                                                               marshalled as for war.

The days of thunder witness the acts of God,

                                 witness the acts of man.

The days of thunder purge and cleanse,

                                 would conquer and destroy.

The days of thunder will not protect those found without their armour upon the plain of battle.

The days of thunder witness the protection of those within a covenant.

The days of thunder recognise,

                                  expect,

                                  accept,

                                        the template for the future.”
