The Beauty of The Earth (2.2.09)

“The beauty of Earth does not compare with the beauty of heaven.

The beauty of Earth is there for all to behold,

for all to tread its paths,

for all to wonder at its being.

The beauty of Earth oscillates with seasons,

                                 oscillates with light and dark,

                                 oscillates with rise and fall.

The beauty of Earth oscillates with tempest and calm,

                                 oscillates with life and death,

                                 oscillates with discovery and loss.

The beauty of Earth oscillates at the will of God.

The beauty of Earth is for the perception of man,

is for the education of man,

is for the appreciation of man.

The beauty of Earth enhances the life of man,

                                 opens the eyes of man,

                                 opens the ears of man.

The beauty of Earth is there for the senses of man,

for the growth of his spirit,

for the harbouring of his soul.

The beauty of the Earth –

the beauty of the seas –

the beauty of the air –

the beauty of all life –

all are there to testify of a guardian with authority,

                                                                   one with a vested interest,

                                                                   one with a grand design.

The beauty of the Earth shudders at an onslaught,

                                       struggles to repair,

                                       has her dresses ripped.

The ripping of a dress depletes the wardrobe of the Earth.

The ripping of a dress signifies a loss.

The ripping of a dress does irreparable harm.

The ripping of a dress leads to a dustbin without a lid.

A ripped dress releases dust from within the dustbin.

Dust will spread widely once released.

Dust should be confined within the dustbin for the benefit of life,

                                                                                                          the destiny of man,

                                                                                                          the beauty of the Earth.

The ripping of a dress speaks of lack of care,

                                                   speaks of lack of stewardship,

speaks of snubbing the designer of the dress.

The ripping of a dress speaks of an attitude of greed,

                                                                   an attitude of selfishness,

an attitude that is not amenable to the sustainability of life.

The ripping of a dress leads to the destruction of the mantle of the Earth.

The ripping of a dress leads to the need for a new wardrobe.

The ripping of a dress leads to the need for a change of government.”
