The Ghosts of Man (30.7.15)

“The ghosts of man are constructed in his presence.

The ghosts of man are trailed into the future after death.

The ghosts of man can be hollow and weak,

                               can be sturdy and upright.

The ghosts of man are not demolished easily,

                               can withstand the attacks of history.

The ghosts of man can bend and buckle in disgrace,

                               cannot survive the tests of time.

The ghosts of man have tributes patchy in their outlines,

                               have more meaning when reading between the lines –

                                                                                                    in what was left unsaid,

                               have more meaning of understanding as the secular was seen to dominate the sacred.

The ghosts of man have tributes which can last for centuries,

                                                    which are filled with achievements worth remembering,

                                                    which have changed and improved the lives of man.

The ghosts of man can live as testimonies of lives well-lived and purposed.

The ghosts of man can live as reports of righteousness and grace prevail among the living.

The ghosts of man can live up through the generations as praise and worship still remain within the scope of memories.

The ghosts of man portray freewill in retrospect,

                                                                  when time is locked so nothing can be modified,

                                                                  where truth is revealed as it stands within eternity.

The ghosts of man are the residues of reputations,

                               are the remainders of characters,

                               are the repositories of attitudes as formed,

                               are the leftovers of the actions of freewill,

                               are the deposits in the memory banks of those who have survived.

The ghosts of man are the results arising from a lifetime in mortality,

                                                                 a lifetime supposedly to be one of preparation for a divine appointment,

                                                       a lifetime supposedly centred on returning to where each spirit was created and awaited birth,

                                             a lifetime measured by the appeal of righteousness in influencing the actions of freewill.

The ghosts of man dictate how each will be remembered by his peers –

                                                                                              either for the better or with reservations.

The ghosts of man are rarely given thought as to how man may be remembered –

                                                                                                                   by a life as it impacted on the others.

The ghosts of man are not evaluated by God,

                               are not influencers of opinion –

                                                                  except to those who never met such in mortality.

The ghosts of man come and go as memories are birthed and die within the time of man.

The ghosts of man reflect all the extremes found in the behaviour of man:

                                                                                                      from gentleness to violence;

                                                                                                      from love to hatred;

                                                                                                      from service to selfishness;

                                                                                                      from the sacred to the secular;

                                                                                                      from wealth to poverty;

                                                                                                      from integrity to deceit;

                                                                                                      from righteousness to villainy;

                                                                                                      from solitude to marriage.

The ghosts of man are not apparitions which appear to man,

                               cannot be addressed,

                               have no entity of being,

                               have no recall except in the memory banks of man.

The ghosts of man may indicate the likelihood of recall to accountability before a throne of God –

                                                                         for freewill acts which initiated the inscriptions on the slates of man:

                                                                                                                                                which were not erased in Time.

The ghosts of man neither convict nor condemn,

                               neither reject nor accept,

                               neither change nor modify,

                               neither hold nor release.

The ghosts of man are just the fleshless remnants established in the freewill living of a life:

                                                                                                                         of how each fellow man,

                                                                                                                                                 under influence,

                                                                                            felt or perceived the effects or impressions of a life as lived.”
