The Needs of Life (15.4.09)

“The need of a parent should be uppermost within a family.

The need of a child,

removed from where the devil rages,

                        is as an orphan,

fallen on a journey and found lying in distress.

The need of the imprisoned should speak to the overcoming of rejection,

                                                                       the laying-down of bitterness,

the dispelling of loneliness through the companionship of the Word –

thereby to seek the reclamation of the soul,

                                                                                                                       the re-awakening of the spirit.

Blessed are they that walk within the marriage covenant,

with vows intact and sealed in the presence of God.

Blessed are they that carry mercy in their hearts.

Blessed are they that linger in My service with opened eyes that detect the injured and the lame.

A need signs as an impairment to the being of the soul,

to the life of the spirit,

to the health of the body.

A need should be addressed in the confines of a family.

A need should be addressed in the lot of a widow without a family.

A need should be of short duration within the gatherings of the saints.

A need that remains unchallenged is a foothold,

                                                           a stepping-stone,

                                                         an anchor point,

                                                                   for the enemy of man.

A need that remains but is ignored will fester as the untreated wounding of the flesh,

will breed resentment in the soul,

will leave the spirit with no defence to the accusations of the foe.

A need that is unresolved will bring criticism from man,

                                                           impose guilt upon the righteous,

                                                           degrade the love of God.

A need that is unresolved asserts the presence of the values of the secular in a fallen world.

A need starts as a prayer to the heart that once was stopped upon a cross –

is assigned as to an angel –

ends as a divine appointment that fulfils the will of God.

A need declined is lost forever and impacts on a life.

The wants of the flesh are not the needs of life.

The wants of the flesh have the urgency of man.2

The wants of the flesh are discarded in the dust,

are not seen on the gown of life,

waste away with an eventual loss of interest.

The needs of life are a testimony of God in action.

The needs of life are time-tabled by God.

The needs of life are sanctified by The Spirit.

The needs of life are withdrawn by the enemy of man,

                                  just beyond the outstretched hand,

just beyond the reach of man.

The needs of life are priced by the enemy of man above the daily wage of man.

The needs of life are increased by the enemy of man at the counter of exchange faster than the accrual in the daily wage of man.

The needs of life are paramount when the needs of life encounter the poverty of man.

The starvation of a child,

                  the killing fields of disease:

bring condemnation to all who roll out weapons and pass by on the other side –

to all who show no mercy –

to all who move in hatred –

to all who impede the righteous from their mercy-call.”
