The Fragrance of The Spirit (25.6.10)

“The fragrance of The Spirit is a delight on the nose of man,

has his attention without an instant of delay,

causes his head to turn in searching for the source.

The fragrance of The Spirit comes in confirmation of His presence,

comes as a sign to man,

comes to the nose of choice.

The fragrance of The Spirit does not everywhere abound,

                                             does not compete with scent,

                                             does not mask an odour.

The fragrance of The Spirit is not let free from a stoppered bottle,

is not a deposit on a handkerchief,

is not found upon the skin of man.

The fragrance of The Spirit wafts upon the nose,

                                             comes and goes at will,

vanishes when a closed eye opens.

The fragrance of The Spirit is delicate and light,

                                             is ephemeral and transient,

                                             lingers for a moment,

                                             is lost upon a movement.

The fragrance of The Spirit is always pleasant to the nose,

                                             is reminiscent of a memory,

is a reminder of a visit.

The fragrance of The Spirit seeks but does not vest,

                                             glides up to the nose,

slips away in a silence that speaks only to the spirit,

in a silence that uplifts the spirit,

in a silence that confirms what the spirit sought for counsel to the soul.

The fragrance of The Spirit touches the soul of man,

touches with great delicacy the spirit of man,

                                             does not touch by accident,

                                             does not go drifting by.

The fragrance of The Spirit comes and goes within the will of God,

brings the tongue to comment on an awareness by the visited,

is not a source of envy,

is too gracious to give offence,

is long remembered for the beauty of the blessing in the passing of the moment.”
