The Divine Commentary on The Book of Ezekiel - Ch 22 (3.11.11)

Eze 22:1   Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Divine Commentary –

“My servants are diligent in application,

                       are diligent in their seeking,

                       are diligent in bearing,

                                                          for repair,

the body of man before the throne of God.

My servants seek perfection prematurely in an imperfect world.

My servants seek completion of all they ask and do.

My servants seek the knowledge which guarantees success.

My servants sometimes seek to usurp the freewill of God,

to deny God His freewill in favour of a request,

to impose constraints which will ensure the outcome they desire.”

Eze 22:2   "Now, son of man, will you judge, will you judge the bloody city? Yes, show her all her abominations!

Divine Commentary –

“My servants validate their efforts by their measure of success.

My servants succumb to error in measuring the flesh.

My servants show wisdom when they validate the spirit and the soul,

when they validate the presence of My Spirit in a life,

when they validate the confession of the supremacy of The God of Love in body,

                                                                                                                                                                     soul and spirit.

My servants do the greater good in attending to the welfare of a spirit and a soul,

of praying for unison between the spirit and the soul,

of checking on the health signs of the spirit,

on the sin signs of the soul,

of how the body is reacting to an environment in which it is forced to dwell.”

Eze 22:3   "Then say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "The city sheds blood in her own midst, that her time may come; and she makes idols within herself to defile herself.

Divine Commentary –

“My servants encounter the curdling signage of the conurbations,

encounter the erection of the idols,

encounter the offerings as tendered to the resin and the stone.

My servants pause in the presence of each encounter –

                       to throw the pillars down,

to dismiss the effigies of idolatry,

to address the demonic powers so boldly on display –

that they may not stand with immunity as an image of satanic force,

                                                                                               of satanic influence,

                                                                                               of satanic capture,

of satanic thrones which lie in wait,

                                                                                               of satanic nightmares of corruption,

of satanic structures blending animals with man.

My servants are to confront the demonic with My Spirit,

to confront the profane with the sacred,

to confront the effigies with the truth:

in a prayer of desolation which binds,

                                                                                                pulls down,

                                                                                                lays waste the influence,

                                                                                                                 the positioning,

the status acknowledged by man –

to the presented works of Satan.”

Eze 22:4   "You have become guilty by the blood which you have shed, and have defiled yourself with the idols which you have made. You have caused your days to draw near, and have come to the end of your years; therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a mockery to all countries.

Divine Commentary –

“My servants walk among the idols of the nations with tongues which do not speak,

with tongues uncommitted to the power of declaration,

with tongues not conversant with My Spirit.

My servants fail in their professed belief,

fail in their integrity of performance,

fail in their de facto acceptance of the status quo.

My servants walk a walk where idols are treated as sacrosanct,

where idols are bypassed without a second glance,

where idols dot the landscapes of the devil.

My servants are unaware of when they are walking in a battlefield,

do not recognise the enemy when encountered,

would rather continue on their way with their souls untroubled.

My servants are accountable for idols they see yet do not engage,

                                                    idols they visit yet ignore,

idols they meet yet do not confront,

idols active in the night yet over such they do not shed the light,

idols of confrontation yet from such they choose to shy away,

idols active in the national cultures yet they accept such without a murmur of dissent.”

Eze 22:5   "Those near and those far from you will mock you as infamous and full of tumult.

Divine Commentary –

“My servants have the knowledge to free captives from the imposition stemming from the gaol of history,

from the history of ignorance which still pervades the present,

from the culture developed upon gods of no impact on the reality of life.

My servants come to speak of The God which is not surrendered to participate in a lie,

of The God which is active in their lives,

                                             of The God of Truth,

                                                                of Love,

                                                                of Healing,

                                                                of Discipleship with honour,

                                                                of eternal life with understanding.

My servants know The God throughout the ages,

                               The God of prophecy,

The God of commitment to His creation,

The God of sacrifice for the benefit of His peoples,

The God with a covenant with man which is upheld before all the peoples of the earth,

The God who offers grace for the salvation of man,

The God who died as a sacrifice for man.

My servants welcome the multitudes into the presence of the unique and loving God who practises forgiveness in desiring a relationship with man,

the unique and truthful God who claims to be the only way for man to enter into His presence with eternal life,

the unique and all powerful God who is the creator of the universe,

                                                                           the namer of the stars,

the commissioner of His Holy Spirit –

to dwell within His saints as their counsellor,

as the guide established to lead His people home.”

Eze 22:6   "Look, the princes of Israel: each one has used his power to shed blood in you.

Divine Commentary –

“My servants do not shed the blood of the living,

do not shed the blood of the dying,

neither gather nor spill the blood of the dead.

My servants know the blood of man is sacred unto life,

is now in no need of further sacrifice,

is not be be laid upon an altar,

was once and for all spilt upon a cross.

My servants know of the recompense for sin,

                               of the price already paid,

of adoption into the family of God.

My servants praise and worship The Living God –

The Loving God who honours life,

The Loving God who honours women,

The Loving God who honours the marriage bed of man.”

Eze 22:7   "In you they have made light of father and mother; in your midst they have oppressed the stranger; in you they have mistreated the fatherless and the widow.

Divine Commentary –

“My servants experience the uniqueness of Jesus The Christ,

                                        the uniqueness of His teachings,

                                        the uniqueness of His life,

the uniqueness of His rising from the grave,

                                        the uniqueness of the testimonies,

the uniqueness of the witnesses down through the ages –

who did not forsake their testimonies even unto tortured deaths –

                                                                                                               the martyrs of the cross.”

Eze 22:8   "You have despised My holy things and profaned My Sabbaths.

Eze 22:9   "In you are men who slander to cause bloodshed; in you are those who eat on the mountains; in your midst they commit lewdness.

Eze 22:10   "In you men uncover their fathers' nakedness; in you they violate women who are set apart during their impurity.

Eze 22:11   "One commits abomination with his neighbour's wife; another lewdly defiles his daughter-in-law; and another in you violates his sister, his father's daughter.

Eze 22:12   "In you they take bribes to shed blood; you take usury and increase; you have made profit from your neighbours by extortion, and have forgotten Me," says the Lord GOD.

Eze 22:13   "Behold, therefore, I beat My fists at the dishonest profit which you have made, and at the bloodshed which has been in your midst.

Eze 22:14   "Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? I, the LORD, have spoken, and will do it.

Eze 22:15   "I will scatter you among the nations, disperse you throughout the countries, and remove your filthiness completely from you.

Eze 22:16   "You shall defile yourself in the sight of the nations; then you shall know that I am the LORD."'"

Eze 22:17   The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Eze 22:18   "Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to Me; they are all bronze, tin, iron, and lead, in the midst of a furnace; they have become dross from silver.

Eze 22:19   "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: 'Because you have all become dross, therefore behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

Eze 22:20   'As men gather silver, bronze, iron, lead, and tin into the midst of a furnace, to blow fire on it, to melt it; so I will gather you in My anger and in My fury, and I will leave you there and melt you.

Eze 22:21   'Yes, I will gather you and blow on you with the fire of My wrath, and you shall be melted in its midst.

Eze 22:22   'As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall you be melted in its midst; then you shall know that I, the LORD, have poured out My fury on you.'"

Eze 22:23   And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

Eze 22:24   "Son of man, say to her: 'You are a land that is not cleansed or rained on in the day of indignation.'

Eze 22:25   "The conspiracy of her prophets in her midst is like a roaring lion tearing the prey; they have devoured people; they have taken treasure and precious things; they have made many widows in her midst.

Eze 22:26   "Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them.

Eze 22:27   "Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood, to destroy people, and to get dishonest gain.

Eze 22:28   "Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' when the LORD had not spoken.

Eze 22:29   "The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger.

Eze 22:30   "So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.

Eze 22:31   "Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord GOD.
