The Boundaries of The Earth (8.8.12)

“The boundaries of the Earth were never there for man’s containment,

were never known until he reached out to the stars,

were never within his span of knowledge until his libraries were filled.

The boundaries of the Earth bring disquiet to some.

The boundaries of the Earth are the seas between the lands,

are the mountains to be passed,

are the winds to be conquered,

are the safe harbours to be found,

are the steep climbs to space where freedom also waits,

                                             are the engines needing fuelling.

The boundaries of the Earth are the rivers without crossings,

are the chasms to be bridged,

are the roads yet to be built,

                                             are the search for food,

are the warring of the nations,

are the solitudes of environments not conducive to man.

The boundaries of the Earth are not fenced by God,

                                             are sometimes fenced by man,

are not set with alarms by God,

                                             are sometimes alarmed by man.

The boundaries of the Earth reach out into space,

                                             reach into the depths,

reach where the sunlight does not go,

                                                                                     does not carry heat,

                                                                                     does not warm the darkness.

The boundaries of the Earth reach out to where the intersects meet with the death zones of man –

whether designed and laid by God or designed and laid by man.

The boundaries of the Earth are subject to the strivings of man,

                                                               to the intent of man,

                                                               to the freewill of man.

The boundaries of the Earth are not for the sequestering of man.

The boundaries of the Earth are as challenges to man:

                                                               for him to overcome,

for him to put a ribbon on a chest,

for him to put a trophy on a wall,

for him to put an image in a book,

for him to gather treasure for his vault.

The boundaries of the Earth are shared by God with man.”
