The Tongue of Praise

“The Tongue of Praise is intelligible to the angels.

The tongue of praise frequents the thrones,

                                  silences the angels,

                                  uplifts those who serve in Heaven.

The tongue of praise is heard,

                                  is welcomed,

                                  is written.

The tongue of praise emanates from the freewill of man.

The tongue of praise speaks of man's appreciation of creation,

                                                                     of the revelations of the Lord,

                                                                     of what God has done for man.

The tongue of praise sings;

                                  rejoices;

                                  lauds—

              the tongue of praise fears the work of God.

The tongue of praise approves;

                                  commends;

                                  thanks—

              the tongue of praise loves the work of God.

The tongue of praise accepts;

                                  enjoys;

                                  endorses—

               the tongue of praise approves the work of God.

The tongue of praise is spoken by the spirit from the freewill to the Thrones on High.”
