The Divine Commentary on The Book of Revelation - Ch 07 (29.12.10)

Rev 7:1 After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, on the sea, or on any tree.

Divine Commentary –

“These angels are the agents of Satan bringing distress upon the earth,

bringing interruptions to the weather patterns of the earth –

long ago established for the benefit of man.”

Rev 7:2 Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God. And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea,

Divine Commentary –

“Then John saw an angel of The Lord,

arising from the position from which each new dawn breaks forth,

having the seal of the living God.

                                     The angel arose in confrontation,

gaining the attention of the four angels of the darkness –

who bring harm within their train.”

Rev 7:3 saying, "Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads."

Divine Commentary –

“The angel of The Lord commands the angels of darkness to stop what they are doing,

to release their hold on the four winds.

They are not to recommence that which they have started until the intention of God,

in attending to the sealing of His servants,

                                    by a company of angels,

                                                      is completed.”

Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed:

Rev 7:5 of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed;

Rev 7:6 of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand were sealed;

Rev 7:7 of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed;

Rev 7:8 of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed.

Rev 7:9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

Divine Commentary –

“So is seen in untold numbers,

so is seen as dressed in glory,

so is seen standing before the throne,

so is seen in homage before The Lamb,

the magnificence of The Church of the First Born,

of The Bride of The Lamb of God,

of The Church of The Good Shepherd.

So is heard the outpourings of the multitude beyond the numbering of man,

the outpourings of ‘Hosanna to The Lamb’,

as the chorus of the voices swells in wave on wave –

to reach its own crescendo –

in the adoration of The Lord.”

Rev 7:10 and crying out with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

Divine Commentary –

“So do they confess with their lips and profess with their tongues the source of their salvation –

in tribute to the living God.”

Rev 7:11 All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God,

Divine Commentary –

“So do the angels,

            the elders,

the sentinels fall on their faces to enact the worshipping of God.”

Rev 7:12 saying: "Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, Thanksgiving and honour and power and might, Be to our God forever and ever. Amen."

Divine Commentary –

“So is the accolade of tribute recognized,

so is the accolade of tribute bestowed,

so is the accolade due deity affirmed by all.”

Rev 7:13 Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?"

Divine Commentary –

“For the spread of understanding are the questions asked,

in the quest for knowledge are the questions answered.”

Rev 7:14 And I said to him, "Sir, you know." So he said to me, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Divine Commentary –

“These are the ones who grew in faith,

                                 who climbed their mountains,

who overcame all that they encountered by the word of God enflamed,

by the strength of their testimonies,

who persevered in storing in the storehouse what the refiner’s fire

                                                 could not touch,

could not cause to flare as kindling in a breeze,

could not cause to vanish as the smoke rings from the fuel:

the fuel of combustion kept so very close to man,

                                                                                                                                              by man,

                                                                                                                                              for man.”

Rev 7:15 "Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them.

Divine Commentary –

“So do their records stand in honour before the throne of God,

so are their achievements noted with pleasure by their God,

  so are their garlands assured,

so do their heads beget a crown.”

Rev 7:16 "They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat;

Divine Commentary –

“So are they children of the promise within the household of their loving God,

so are they the sons of God within the provisioning of The Father’s house.”

Rev 7:17 "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Divine Commentary –

“So are they within the sheepfold of the shepherd:

where the pasture is new each day,

where the living water fountains to cascade,

where God has a handkerchief sufficient for every eye.”
