The Polishing of The Soul (23.2.09)

“The polishing of the soul is in the care of man.

The polishing of the soul smoothes out the wrinkles and the bumps.

enables its reflection to shine with all due brightness.

The polishing of the soul relinquishes control of the tongue.

threads a crystal needle with a golden thread.

adopts The Spirit as its guide.

brings no argument to the fore.

makes it a joy to be around.

gives fortitude to surf the waves of life without a fall.

The polishing of the soul occurs after the dross has been removed.

occurs after images have been replaced.

                                         occurs after jurisdiction is established.

                                         occurs after responsibility is accepted.

occurs after a torch lights the reflection.

is the process of refining the blurred image of the soul.

The polishing of the soul requires attention to detail.

                                         exerts pressure on the senses.

                                         strains the rashness of intent.

follows the counsel of The Spirit.

brings control of the expressions on a face.

removes impulses that do not honour.

The polishing of the soul banishes flights of fancy.

                                         banishes the lies of friendship.

checks the tongue from an utterance that invites a denial of the truth.

                                         comes from perseverance.

comes through the desire for change.

                                         teaches after much practice.

The polishing of the soul is tarnished by disunity in a marriage.

is tarnished by the giving and the taking of offence.

revels with delight in the approval of The Spirit.

The polishing of the soul acquires a sheen through fasting,

acquires a sheen through acquisition of the Word,

acquires a sheen through discipleship with an active walk –

an orientated walk with a goal fervently in mind –

a walk that halts before a step that may be false –

a walk that brings due honour in the precision with which the feet are placed.

The soul is polished by placing guards upon the senses that pre-empt the tracing of a probing finger of the foe,

that reject the probing of the soul,

that do not countenance the probings that give rise to flights of fancy.

The soul is polished by placing guards upon the tongue,

by placing guards upon the face,

by placing guards upon the body.

The soul is polished when the guards are no longer needed –

for the new nature is established that basks in the soul’s reflection –

                                                                                                                                    upon the visage of presentation.

The polishing of the soul follows understanding of the process,

has watchers who cheer each step,

has reporters who record each degree of clarity attained.

The polishing of the soul spreads like fire across the heavens,

                                         spreads via word of mouth,

spreads in shouts from the tops of temples.

The polishing of the soul is an event no-one wants to miss,

                                         is always encouraged,

supplies jewels to the gown of life.

The polishing of the soul brings snarls from those defeated,

curls the lips of the profane,

turns the back of those who failed to capture.

The polishing of the soul is the joy-stick of a flight,

is as an apple on a tree when fully ripe and free of rot,

is waiting to ride the clouds of conquest in the presence of a groom.

The polishing of the soul fits arrows to a bow.

The polishing of the soul enables the horse ride of a life.

The polishing of the soul puts a gowned figure on a horse.”
