The Comfort of The Lord (1) (10.6.09)

“The comfort of The Lord has recognition beyond the grave of man.

The comfort of The Lord addresses the needs of man.

The comfort of The Lord is an extension of His favour.

The comfort of The Lord is to be surrounded by His arms –

to know the shedding of the fears of life,

                                                           the absence of life’s worries,

the attempts to strive that do not overcome.

The comfort of The Lord brings the wisdom of self-worth,

                                                     the appreciation of good health,

                                                     the contentment of well-being.

The comfort of The Lord brings a sojourn of replenishment,

                                                     the growth of inner peace,

the presence of His smile upon a face.

The comfort of The Lord brings wisdom to a tongue,

                                                                      a fire upon the lips,

                                                                      a vision to the fore.

The comfort of The Lord encourages the will to speak within the spirit,

the sight to see beyond horizons,

the hearing of the spirit that may whisper to the soul.

The comfort of The Lord has certainty of access,

                                                validation of a faith,

                                                the comfort of a friend.

The comfort of The Lord furnishes a temple:

                                                              with a throne of grace;

                                                              with a bell of the pitch of truth;

with a door of open access that never closes to exclude.

The comfort of The Lord is not swayed by the comforts of man,

is immune to the aggrandizements of man,

is deaf to the authority of man.

The comfort of The Lord is not attained by the unrighteous,

                                                                 by the restless,

                                                                 by the thankless.

The comfort of The Lord is a blessing for the righteous,

is at home amongst the saints,

is a stepping-stone towards His presence.

The comfort of The Lord is cause for celebration,

is cause for a thankful heart,

is cause to witness the growth of faith.

The comfort of The Lord increases the wisdom of each student,

for those who seek will find without the need to grope.”
